New England tied their longest winning run from the Brady era as they beat division rivals the Jets by 13 points in professional football

Rookie TreVeyon Henderson shone brightly with three touchdowns as the Patriots notched an eighth straight win for the first time since star signal-caller Brady's closing campaign with the team in the 2019 season

Quarterback Drake Maye accumulated 281 passing yards and a touchdown, connecting on 25 out of 34 attempts

The win extends the New England's advantage at the summit of the AFC East as they advanced to nine victories against two losses, with the New York bottom after slipping to two wins and eight losses

The Jets had gone in front at Gillette Stadium with QB Fields running in a short rushing score to finish the Jets' first possession

But the home team fought back in the second period as the rookie scored two seven-yard TDs before the ball carrier caught a pass from Drake Maye at the rear of the end zone in the middle of the third quarter to make it 21-7

"It was a crucial moment for him delivering, and it's been fantastic for him to keep getting these reps," Maye commented on the rookie. "He wants to be great."

Justin Fields found Metchie late in the third quarter to reduce the lead for the Jets but Borregales converted a pair of field goals in the final period as the Patriots sealed the triumph
